Abstract

The case presented here involved the strategic curricular revision of a doctoral-level elective course that focused on ethics and individual differences for the practice of professional psychology offered via an individual-based instructional modality. Goals of the revision centered around four key factors, all of which were addressed through strategic customizations to an open educational resource textbook. The factors, including alignment to best practices for the engagement of adult learners, capacity to promote self- awareness, effective presentation of varied perspectives, and capacity to facilitate dialogue are evaluated in the context of Adult Learning Theory.
