This paper looks at the sometimes fraught relationship between humans and nature using the
sensemaking framework introduced by Karl Weick in his 1995 book, Sensemaking in Organizations and the Paradoxes of Organizational Effectiveness framework discussed in an article by McCullough and Faught, 2014.
